Acugem n°04 - Spleen Energy consists of chestnut leaf buds and young juniper shoots in the form of glycerinated alcoholic macerate, as well as aqueous extracts of agrimony and licorice root.

Agrimony unblocks Qi flow and refreshes the spleen's fire. Hemostatic and astringent, it calms bleeding and abnormal menstrual blood loss, nosebleeds, etc. It also alleviates mental and physical tension.

Licorice, a Qi and spleen tonic, eliminates heat and toxins, has an analgesic effect, and enhances the action of the other ingredients in this formula.

Chestnut buds dilate the Middle Warmer, where the Spleen is located, and harmonize Qi. They support the Spleen in its function of holding blood and improve venous circulation in the pelvis. The toxins released by the decongestion of the Middle Warmer are eliminated by the Kidney, whose excretory function is stimulated by young Juniper shoots.

In TCM, the spleen represents the processing of nutrients and impressions, grounding and stability, energy building, concentration, and clear thinking. The spleen is connected with overthinking and worry. This is truly digestion, both physical and mental.
